Job Details:

* Night shift position on a Progressive Care Unit located at the Heart Hospital, functioning as a cardiac stepdown unit with a significant cardiac patient population
* Option of 36 or 48 hours per week
* Patient ratio of 1:4-5
* Weekend requirement: As needed, rotating
* Float requirement: Yes, travelers will be expected to float to like units within their scope as needed
* On-call requirement: None
* Block scheduling: Case by case
* Self-scheduling
* 55 beds on unit with a daily census of 38
* Patients include adults and geriatrics with diagnoses including CHF, STEMI/NSTEMI, and cardiovascular-related conditions
* Cardiovascular experience required
* Minimum 1 year of experience required, 2 years preferred
* First-time travelers accepted
* Charting system: Epic (required)
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS; CPI preferred
* Scrub color: Any (no logo)
* Key skills include cardiac telemetry, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, central line care/management, heparin protocols, IV insulin protocols, cardiac drip management and titration, post cardiac angiogram care, pre/post cardiac cath, pre/post cardiac surgery, sheath removal, PICC line management, high flow nasal cannula, procedural sedation administration/monitoring, and wound care/wound vac
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, rapid response teams, and social services

The unit functions as a cardiac stepdown unit with 55 beds and provides comprehensive cardiovascular care supported by a robust interdisciplinary team. The facility offers advanced cardiac services and maintains a strong focus on delivering high-quality care to adult and geriatric patients with complex cardiovascular conditions.
