Opportunity:

RN - IMC / IICU (Intermediate Intensive Care)

Job Details:

* 13 or 26 week contract options available
* Must work 2 of the 3 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's
* 6 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule period
* Self-scheduling type
* Patient ratio of 1:3 for days, nights, and weekends
* Care for adult patients including trauma, medical, surgical, and neurology cases requiring monitoring or interventions every 1-2 hours
* Unit receives direct admissions, ICU transfers, and escalations from Rapid Response Teams
* Special equipment includes Hercules patient re-positioners, ceiling lifts, and Airtaps
* Must be proficient in cardiac monitoring, telemetry monitoring, and emergency response including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
* Ventilator experience required
* Medication management skills must include titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
* May be required to float to other units or campuses as needed based on census; floating limited to areas where qualified and competencies are documented
* Minimum 2 years of RN experience required with at least 1 completed travel assignment
* Previous IICU/ICU experience with acuity of at least 1:3 required
* First-time travelers accepted with 3 years of specialty experience and critical care experience required
* Active SC or multistate license required; pending licenses not accepted
* Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience required
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Progressive care settings such as PCU, DOU, IMC, or Stepdown will be considered based on unit acuity

This facility is a regional community teaching medical center designated by the American College of Surgeons as a Level I Adult and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center, the only one of its kind in the Midlands region. The hospital features 641 licensed beds and holds Magnet recognition for nursing excellence. It is home to advanced specialty programs including cardiac care, stroke, and vascular services, and benefits from robust interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, and rapid response teams.
