Job Details:
* Minimum 2 years of emergency department experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
* Travel experience required; manager prefers travelers with at least 3 ER contracts completed; candidates with 1-2 completed travel assignments will be screened
* Epic charting system experience required (hard stop - redirected if no Epic experience)
* Large, high-acuity, non-trauma emergency department serving adolescents through geriatrics
* Stroke and STEMI certified facility
* Patient ratio of 1:4; 74-bed ER averaging 165-175 patients per day
* Unit systems: Epic (required) and Pyxis
* Scrub color: Navy Blue
* Every other weekend required unless specified otherwise
* Floating is rare but may occur within facility and scope of practice as needed
* Maximum 7 days of requested time off per contract; all RTO must be finalized at time of submission
* RTO blackout dates: Spring Break (April 4th - 12th)
* No RTO can be requested during orientation week (Monday through Sunday)
* Holiday work expectations: if 1-2 major holidays fall during assignment, traveler is expected to work all of them; if 3 major holidays fall during assignment, traveler is expected to work 2 of them
* Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
* Previous charge experience preferred
* Community hospital experience preferred
* Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS
* Preferred certifications: TNCC, SANE
* Georgia or Compact nursing license required at time of submission
* 24 orientation hours required

This facility is a large, high-acuity emergency department that is both Stroke and STEMI certified, demonstrating a commitment to providing advanced cardiac and neurological emergency care. The department operates with robust interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, and pharmacy. With 74 beds and an average daily census of 165-175 patients, this facility offers a dynamic and fast-paced environment for experienced emergency department nurses.
