Opportunity:

Urology Exp Outpatient Clinic RN

Job Details:

* Outpatient urology clinic setting with no floating between units, no on-call, and no weekend or holiday requirements
* Patient ratio of 1 nurse to 6-8 patients with a daily census of 16 patients and approximately 8 visits per day
* Catheter exchange is the primary responsibility and must have been performed consistently within the last 6 months - this is a hard stop requirement
* Responsible for intravesicular BCG mixing and administration, trial of void, trial of passage, suprapubic catheter exchange, and self-catheterization instruction
* Treat patients with diagnoses including urine retention, kidney stones, chronic catheterization, bladder cancer, erectile dysfunction, BPH, hematuria, and urinary tract infections
* Patient population includes adults and geriatrics
* Urology background required; ER, pre/post-op, day surgery, ambulatory, or home health experience a plus
* Must have outpatient clinic experience and recent experience with catheters and a fast-paced environment
* Seasoned traveler required with at least 1 year of experience
* Travel experience is required; compact license must be in hand at time of submission
* Epic charting system experience preferred
* Required certification: BLS
* Key skills include foley catheter insertion and management, set up of aseptic/sterile procedure trays, telephone triage, specimen labeling, urinalysis, interpretation of laboratory results, and urgent care procedures
* Interdisciplinary support available including interpretation services, phlebotomy, and unit secretary
* May be expected to train for telephone triage if extending contract
* May be expected to float between sister facilities nearby contracted facility; refusal to float may result in termination of assignment and/or forfeiture of guaranteed hours
