Opportunity:

Level II NICU

Job Details:

* 3x12 hour night shifts
* Weekend coverage required
* 2 years of experience preferred
* Travel experience required
* Patient ratio of 1:2 for days, nights, and weekends
* Float to Baby Nurse as needed
* Charting system experience required; Epic system used
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP, NRP Advanced, STABLE
* Skilled in administration of blood and blood products, anti-seizure medications, antibiotics/antivirals, and APGAR scoring
* Experience with arterial line management, central line blood draws, and central line/implanted line care
* Proficient in Bubble CPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), and ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP)
* Experience caring for neonates under 34 weeks and neonates 29-34 weeks
* Skilled in neonatal dosage calculations, neonatal sepsis care, and neonatal abstinence syndrome management
* Experience with UAC and UVC catheter management
* Proficient in feedings including bottle, breast, and gavage as well as breastfeeding support and handling of breast milk
* Experience with phototherapy, hyperbilirubinemia management, and thermoregulation
* Skilled in placement and management of oral, nasogastric, and nasojejunal tubes
* Experience with respiratory distress syndrome, meconium aspiration, and seizure disorders
* Proficient in suctioning (ETT and NT), surfactant administration, and steroid administration
* Special equipment experience required: Bubble CPAP and High Flow Nasal Cannula
* Common patient diagnoses include hypoglycemia, hyperbilirubinemia, rule-out sepsis, transient tachypnea of the newborn, respiratory distress syndrome, prematurity, and intrauterine growth restriction
* 50-mile radius rule applies; local candidates are not eligible

Facility:

This facility operates a Level II NICU providing specialized care for neonatal patients. The unit is equipped with advanced medical equipment including Bubble CPAP and High Flow Nasal Cannula systems to support the complex needs of premature and critically ill newborns. The facility maintains a small, focused unit with a strong emphasis on developmental care and family-centered support, offering an interdisciplinary approach to neonatal patient care.
