Opportunity:
RN - PICU
Job Details:
* 17-week contract assignment
* Day shifts available from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
* Every other weekend rotation required
* Minimum 2 years of experience required
* First-time travelers will be considered
* Care for a diverse patient population including respiratory patients (high flow, CPAP, BiPAP), trach patients, chemotherapy, RSV, asthma, new onset diabetes with insulin drips, oncology, trauma (falls, MVAs), cardiovascular and congenital heart defect patients, and surgical patients (appendectomies, g-tubes, ENT, bowel obstructions, VP shunts, cardiac, neuro)
* No solid organ transplant, major burns, or stem cell transplant patients
* Required skills: aseptic and sterile techniques, basic dressing changes, ventilator and trach management, suctioning, g-tube/j-tube management, feeding tubes, chest tubes, epidurals, PCAs, drip management, Foley insertion and management, discharge skills
* CRRT experience with Prismax preferred; CICU experience preferred
* ECMO experience beneficial - ECMO specialist will manage the ECMO machine
* EMR: Epic preferred
* Floating may be required to MedSurg, ED, or NICU as Helping Hands or Constant Observer
* Scrub color: any color accepted; no hooded shirts or long sleeves (sleeves must be able to be pulled above the elbow)
* Required certifications: BLS, PALS
Facility:
This facility is a 152-bed Level II Trauma Center and Level IV NICU featuring 16 PICU beds with interchangeable overflow between Medical-Surgical and PICU units. The unit provides care for a wide range of complex pediatric cases including neurological, cardiac, respiratory, surgical, and medical patients. The facility utilizes Epic as its primary electronic medical records system and employs advanced equipment including Prismax for CRRT management.
