Opportunity:

RN - PACU

Job Details:

* Work varied 12-hour shifts, any day Monday through Friday, with start times ranging from 5:00 AM to 9:30 AM
* Required on-call shifts: approximately 5 weekend call shifts and 8 weeknight call shifts per quarter
* Weeknight call hours: 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM or 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM; Weekend call hours: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
* Call requires a 30-minute response time
* No weekend in-house shifts; call only on weekends
* Rotate holidays with core staff
* Patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2
* 8-bed PACU unit and 7 pre-op beds
* Common patient cases include total hips/knees, general surgery, daVinci procedures, neuro, and urology
* PACU may house ICU patients until beds become available in the unit
* Must be able to read and interpret EKG strips
* Possible floating between Main PACU and OPSC as needed
* Floor-specific orientation: 1 to 2 days in PACU with a preceptor
* Acute recovery experience required
* Charting system: Cerner
* Scrubs are provided
* Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS, PALS (AHA)

Facility:

This acute care facility operates a Main PACU unit supported by a comprehensive team of on-site resources, including hospitalists and intensivists, respiratory therapy available 24/7, and pharmacy services available 24/7. The facility utilizes Cerner as its electronic medical records system and offers IV team support as needed. While not a trauma hospital, the facility provides a wide range of surgical services and maintains high standards of patient care across its perioperative environment.
