Job Details:

* Mid shift from 1:00 PM to 1:00 AM
* Varied shift start times available: 7:00 AM, 10:00 AM, 11:00 AM, 12:00 PM, 1:00 PM, and 3:00 PM
* Modified self-scheduling
* 4 weekend shifts required per 4-week block
* Typically 2 of 5 holidays required (including holiday eves)
* Must have at least 2 years of ER experience with Level I and Level II trauma experience accumulated within the past 2 years
* Epic EMR proficiency required - must have been used within the last 5 years
* No 48-hour guarantees
* No blocked scheduling requests
* No more than 5 days of requested time off
* Patient ratios: 1:5 medical, 1:6 for fast track
* Level 3 trauma center operated like a Level 1, STEMI and Stroke receiving facility
* 52 beds with 4 trauma bays; averages 200 patients per day
* 6 fast track beds available
* Quick look triage with 2 areas using ESI system
* RN must read own telemetry; monitor techs also available
* Common drips include ICU drips for hold patients
* Respiratory therapy assigned for ABGs, nebulizer treatments, ventilator management, and CPAP
* RT equipment includes Glidescope, Hamilton, and Phillips ventilators
* Dedicated CT and X-ray available in the ER with a transport team; RN will accompany critical patients
* No phlebotomy department - ED techs or RNs draw labs from IV starts
* Floating may be required to Foothills freestanding ER approximately 15 minutes away; typically scheduled in advance
* Charge-free environment; House Supervisor available to assist as needed
* Scrub color: Navy Blue
* Orientation includes one NEO day, one clinical/Epic day, and one day on the floor
* Charting system: Epic
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), PALS, NIHSS; TNCC preferred
* BSN not required

Facility:

This acute care facility operates a high-volume emergency department treating all emergency medical needs, averaging 200 patients per day. The facility functions as a STEMI and Stroke receiving center and operates its Level 3 trauma center with the intensity of a Level 1, featuring 52 beds and 4 trauma bays. The department is supported by 24/7 in-house security, dedicated CT and X-ray services, respiratory therapy, and a team of ED techs, providing a comprehensive and well-equipped environment for emergency care professionals.
