Neuro EXP Tele RN

Job Details:

* Night shift position with variable scheduling
* Every other weekend required
* Block schedules not required
* No on-call required
* Patient ratio of 1:5
* Float between units as needed to meet unit needs
* At least 1 year of experience required
* Neurology RN experience required; must be comfortable with NIH scale and proficient in caring for post-surgical neurology patients and varied neurology diagnoses
* Must be proficient in Epic charting system (required, hard stop)
* Compact nursing license must be in hand at time of submission
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Required skills: BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac), craniotomy, CVA management, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, neuro stepdown, pre/post neurosurgery, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, spinal cord injury, telemetry, and traumatic brain injury
* Scrub color: Any color for RN
* Parking at no cost
* Patients include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
* Daily census of 48 patients across 48 rooms and 64 beds
* Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary
* Unit is a designated stroke unit with Thrombectomy Capable JCAHO designation, Spine Center of Excellence JCAHO designation, and NAEC Level 3 Epilepsy Center designation
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* Travelers may be expected to float between nearby sister facilities; refusal to float may result in termination and/or forfeiture of guaranteed hours
* 2 professional references required covering 1 year within the last 3 years, completed during compliance process prior to start

This facility is a short-term acute care hospital and Level II Trauma Center with Level II Pediatric Trauma Center designation. With 629 staffed beds, it operates as a teaching hospital offering comprehensive interdisciplinary support services. The facility specializes in neuroscience care, including neurology, neurosurgery, and telemetry, and holds multiple JCAHO designations recognizing its excellence in stroke care, spine care, and epilepsy services.
