Neuro EXP Tele RN

Job Details:

* Position may float between units to meet unit needs
* No on-call required
* Every other weekend required
* Block schedules not required
* Patient ratio of 1:4
* At least 1 year of experience required
* Neurology RN experience required, including comfort with the NIH scale and proficiency in caring for post-surgical neurology patients and varied neurology diagnoses
* Epic charting system experience required
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Required skills: BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac), craniotomy, CVA (cerebrovascular accident), interpretation of dysrhythmias, management of dysrhythmias, neuro stepdown, pre/post neurosurgery, procedural sedation administration/monitoring, spinal cord injury, telemetry, and traumatic brain injury
* Patients served include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
* Unit is a designated stroke unit with Thrombectomy Capable JCAHO designation
* Spine Center of Excellence with JCAHO designation
* NAEC Level 3 Epilepsy Center
* Scrub color: Any color for RNs
* No parking fee
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities nearby the contracted facility

Facility:

This facility is a short-term acute care hospital and Level II Trauma Center with Level II Pediatric Trauma Center designation, housing 629 staffed beds. As a teaching hospital, it offers a comprehensive and collaborative care environment with extensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary services. The neuroscience unit specializes in neurology, neurosurgical, and telemetry patient care.
